1. Who you contract with

Solvici Shade Lab (the "Service") is provided by Solvici Sunless ("Solvici Sunless", "we", "us"). By creating an account, subscribing, or continuing to use the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

Shade Lab analyses a photograph of skin, corrects for lighting, and suggests a DHA percentage, base solution undertone, mix ratio and rinse time, and renders a shade preview. Paid plans include unlimited scans (Shade Lab Basic) and a public listing on our Find a Pro directory (Shade Lab Pro).

Results are guidance for trained sunless professionals and enthusiasts. They are estimates, not medical advice, and not a guarantee of a particular tan outcome. Always patch test and use your own professional judgement before applying any solution to a client.

3. Eligibility and account

You must be of legal age in your jurisdiction, and where you use the Service on behalf of a business you confirm you have authority to bind that business. Keep your login credentials confidential; you are responsible for activity under your account. Provide accurate information and keep it up to date.

4. Acceptable use

You must not:

• use the Service unlawfully or for fraud, spam, or harassment;
• upload photographs of another person without their consent;
• upload unlawful, sexualised images of minors, or otherwise abusive content;
• infringe anyone's intellectual property or privacy rights;
• interfere with the security of the Service — no malware, probing, scraping, rate-limit circumvention, or reverse engineering;
• resell, redistribute, or sublicense the Service or its outputs as a competing product.

5. AI-generated analysis

Shade Lab uses automated image analysis and machine learning models. Outputs can be inaccurate or incomplete, particularly with poor lighting, filters, heavy makeup, or unusual skin conditions. You are responsible for the images you submit, for verifying results, and for how you use them. Do not rely on the Service for medical, dermatological, or other regulated professional advice.

We may filter, refuse, remove, or restrict content and outputs, and may suspend accounts that submit prohibited content. Rights-holders who believe content infringes their rights can contact us for takedown; repeat infringers lose access.

6. Your content

You keep ownership of the photographs and listing content you submit. You grant us a limited licence to host and process that content solely to operate and provide the Service. You confirm you have the rights needed to submit it.

7. Find a Pro listings

Shade Lab Pro subscribers may publish a directory listing. You are responsible for the accuracy of your listing, including your specialties, service area, and booking link. Listings are hidden automatically when a Pro subscription lapses, and we may remove listings that are inaccurate, misleading, or in breach of these Terms.

8. Intellectual property

We retain all rights in the Service, including the software, analysis engine, documentation, and Solvici Sunless branding. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service within your selected plan.

9. Payments and subscriptions

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

Payment, billing, taxes, renewals, cancellations, and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms. Subscriptions renew automatically for the selected term until cancelled. See our Refund Policy.

10. Service level

We aim to keep the Service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free performance. Features may change, and maintenance or third-party outages may cause downtime.

11. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these Terms, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated or serious policy violations. You may cancel at any time; access to paid features ends at the close of your paid period. On termination we may delete your data after a reasonable export window.

12. Warranties and liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages, including lost profits, data, or goodwill. Our aggregate liability is capped at the fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here excludes liability for fraud, death, or personal injury where the law does not allow it.

13. Indemnity

You will indemnify us against claims arising from your content, your unlawful use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms.

14. General

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, and the courts of Illinois have jurisdiction. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in a merger or acquisition. Neither party is liable for delays caused by events beyond reasonable control. If we change these Terms we will update the date above.
